About Stacie Meredith
Stacie’s love for midwifery began in 2000 when she became a certified hospital doula, before ever attending a birth. Though new to the birthing world Stacie found it to be a wonderful experience, getting to be of service and able to nurture families during labor and early postpartum. And newborns are amazing!
During this time, she read Ina May Gaskin’s book Spiritual Midwifery and heard the calling to support families in giving birth at home in this respectful, safe and empowering way. Stacie graduated from a thorough and well organized MEAC Accredited direct entry program at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery as a Certified Professional Midwife in 2005.
Stacie and her husband, Robert moved to beautiful Boulder, CO in October 2006 and the following year opened Stacie Meredith Midwifery Services LLC. She has so much gratitude for the wonderful relationships she has built over the years with her clients, their children and other birth professionals.
September 2019 Stacie and Robert moved to Longmont, where she is excited to see clients in her new remodeled office or outside on the patio when the weather is nice. Stacie offers walking prenatal appointments in the beautiful park next door and the option of bringing your furry family member for a doggy playdate with Henry, her energetic 14lb terrier mix. Both Henry and his brother Wallace the cat are new members of the Meredith household and bring so much laughter and love to their home.
February 2020 Stacie's midwifery practice expanded to include student midwife Rachel Snow. Rachel is a senior student at Midwives College of Utah and brings her strong herbal knowledge and doula skills with her. Stacie’s clients report that Rachel is a great addition.
Stacie is very inspired by the women of the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) and has been a member since 2010. She loves supporting them on their journeys of integration and healing their birth experience.
She became a Certified Calm Birth teacher in the spring of 2015 and teaches meditation for childbirth and parenting. She is excited to share this mind body technique to help expectant parents feel more empowered and prepared for birth and beyond.
Stacie became a Certified Lactation Counselor in September 2016 through the Healthy Children's Project. This 40 hour course has the most recent up to date research on the health benefits of breast milk and strategies to help the nursing person be successful with this goal.
In September 2016, Stacie started volunteering with Nature Heals and the amazing horses at Body N Soul. Being around the horses week after week, getting to know their unique personalities and being taught how to care for them has been an incredible experience for her. Nature Heals is a non profit organization that is dedicated to providing nature based healing therapies for all people and partners with Body N Soul LLC, a holistic equestrian barn that offers lessons and psyco therapy.
